Spring Steelhead Schools

2026 DATES

COMING SOON

These are winter‐run fish that return to rivers close to the coast each spring. Unlike fall-run fish, they stay in the salt a bit longer because their spawning journey is shorter. For anglers willing to brave the elements, this timing offers a chance to encounter bright, fresh, electric fish pushing upriver on their anadromous migration.

We built our steelhead schools around this unique spring window—when the fish slide into impossibly shallow lies and reward anglers who can read water, move quietly, and swing effectively with light sink tips. In many runs, steelhead hold in ankle-to-knee–deep water, giving students a rare opportunity to study approach, presentation, and fish behavior in real time. Pair that with sweeping coastal scenery, and it becomes an unforgettable way to shake off winter and get back in the rhythm of the swing.

These fish aren’t always plentiful, but they are among the most beautiful, pristine, and humbling steelhead you’ll ever encounter. Join us for a steelhead school this spring, and let us introduce you to the extraordinary waters we call home in Skeena Country.
